Queried on the now-infamous video of Senator Franklin Drilon seemingly dozing off in the middle of an interview she was conducting, broadcast journalist Pinky Webb issued a statement supposedly “clarifying” what really happened.
Here’s what happened. As I was laying the premise for my question, I saw Sen Drilon look down at the documents he had on the table. I did not see him fall asleep. https://t.co/ga9kxyBFBY

Still, it is worth examining the video closely.
It could be noted that a momentary shot of Drilon with his head down was aired. The camera then cut to Webb who was caught in the middle of a chuckle while repeating the question seemingly recognising that Drilon may have been dozing off when she asked it the first time.
Do Filipinos have to take Webb’s account of what really happened? Or should they apply a bit of critical thinking when examining the facts caught on video? It’s really a personal choice, but the exercise befits the thinking faculties of modern consumers of mass media.
