It is quite a pathetic situation. To this day, the Philippine Opposition continues to look to “vice president” Leni Robredo for leadership. Isn’t there a better alternative?
Time and again, Robredo has proven to be a divisive rather than unifying leader. This is because she continues to be identified with the partisan bloc within the Opposition that remains loyal to the Aquino-Cojuangco feudal clan (a.k.a. the Yellowtards).
It is hard to believe that a country of 100 million could not produce a single broadly-viable opposition leader. Perhaps this is because no alternative ideology to the default Yellow narrative of heroes, martyrs, and necropoliticians has yet been crafted for such a leader to run with.
The clock is ticking and nation elections are just around the corner. Filipinos deserve an Opposition they could respect and not one led by a lame object of ridicule like Leni Robredo.
